The ERA – Explore, Redesign, Accelerate project has officially started.
Co-funded by the Regional ERDF Programme 2021–2027 of the Lombardy Region, ERA aims to reduce the environmental impact and energy consumption of IT infrastructures through advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and automation technologies.

The project’s goal is to develop an integrated system capable of monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the energy efficiency of data centers, improving the sustainability of IT operations and contributing to the region’s digital and ecological transition.

ERA is structured around five main objectives: from the analysis of IT infrastructures and energy usage, to software redesign and operational optimization, up to validation in both simulated and real environments.

The initiative brings together industrial and academic partners with complementary expertise in AI, automation, cybersecurity, and sustainability, combining research and innovation to enable the next generation of environmentally responsible digital infrastructures.
